I recently had my fifth laser lithotripsy surgery to break-up large kidney stones in my ureter. The ureter is the tube that urine travels from your kidney. Three different urologists cannot provide a reason for my continuous collection of stones.

Is it the drinking of soda that I do not consume? I drink almost a gallon of water a day that I think would flush my system. I’m at a loss as to what do do about this problem.

My left kidney is working at below 20% according to my urologist. Do I have the kidney removed?

This is just one of the issues of ageing. My organs are old much as myself. Did I do too much damage to them as to not recover? My biggest fear is that I will have to go on dialysis treatment. The last thing I want to do is have renal replacement therapy.

Maybe if I lose some weight and exercise more these problems may go away. I am now working towards a goal of losing 20 pounds and completing a program that includes an hour a day of some type of physical movement that increases my heart rate.

My primary care physician continues to add medications to list that I already consume. Now she wants me on a prediabetes drug to improve my internal insulin and glucose numbers . I’m trying to reduce the medications I’m taking, not increase the number. I have one for blood pressure, cholesterol and gout.

These are the things that effect your daily activities as you age. The losing of weight and physical activity may help. I have to learn that the hunger pangs received throughout the day will pass and I do not have to eat every time I feel hungry.
